The dead flyer

Sometimes, designs just don’t work for clients. It’s nobody’s fault, it just happens. Design and/or fonts you think will be right for the task at hand are not liked at the other end. It’s a shame, you can explain why you think it is right, why you think it will work for them, but in the end you can’t take design work too personally. The old adage of the client is always right comes in to play. It is, after all, something that is going to represent them and they ultimately have to be happy with it.

Below is a recent flyer design in point. It was a first draft so you will see the ubiquitous designers spelling mistakes on it, but, sadly, it will not be handed out, stuffed into pockets, used as a coaster, thrown away, nor will it adorn the walls and windows of bars, cafes or shops in London. It is a dead flyer… This flyer is no more! It has ceased to be! It’s expired and gone to meet its maker! It’s a stiff! Bereft of life, it rests in peace! It’s kicked the bucket, it’s shuffled off its mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin’ choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-FLYER!!
