A constant shift East

We are moving! Not far, but far enough to need a new contact map – and as you can see we will be at the end of the Victoria Line, just a minute from Walthamstow Central station:

Walthamstow will be the fourth permanent home of Made In Earnest after Clerkenwell, Hoxton and Clapton. It’s been a constant shift East since the start it would seem!

New address details: 87 Cairo Road, London E17 3BB.

Visitors, cards and presents are more than welcome.

Nostalgia 77: A Journey Too Far

Almost 18 months after it’s release I am finally able to add the Nostalgia 77 album A Journey Too Far to the site and to the portfolio. The album came out on Tru Thoughts and is still available as a limited edition vinyl (among other formats).

Historic House: restoration

It’s been a long time since I posted anything about Historic House magazine, but the Autumn 2015 issue is out now and the cover features a fabulous image of the restoration of St Giles House. Usually the magazine would have an ‘after’ image on the cover, but I thought this was just too interesting and too informative not to use. Thankfully the Association agreed.

Acland Burghley: Visual Arts exhibition

Another of our ongoing projects is the design for the annual Acland Burghley Visual Arts exhibition. Every year a students work is chosen to feature on both the poster and the invite that is sent out. Below is both the 2105 and 2014 posters.

The Echo

One of the ongoing projects we have is the design of The Echo newsletter for the Association of Sound Designers. It’s a landscape A5 format and despite being all about sound is pleasing full of images…

Summer is coming…

… and the office is looking good in the sun. Hopefully Summer is on the way…

SPAB: Briefing

A while ago we were asked by the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) to design a new supplement to go with SPAB magazine.

What we came up with is SPAB Briefing. It is smaller than the A4 magazine (it’s 189mm x 267m) so it sits neatly under the masthead of the magazine when they are posted out together. It echoes the magazine is some respects (for example, the corporate red is used on both covers) but can easily be viewed as a standalone publication.

The first Briefing is out now and sample pages from it are shown below. The second issue is in progress and will be published in March.

Sara Mitra: Losing You

Forthcoming on the excellent Impossible Ark label is the second Sara Mitra album; Losing You. The image below shows both the front and back cover of the LP.

Produced by Ben Lamdin (aka Nostalgia 77) and recorded using vintage analogue tape technology, ‘Losing You’ will be released 11th May as a limited edition vinyl LP (don’t worry, digital downloads of the album also available). The album launch will take place the day before the release at The Vortex in Dalston and I’m sure there will be a few copies of the LP available on the night.

The Victorian: Tower Bridge

The latest issue of The Victorian (Issue 48) has gone to print. This is the opening spread of the article about the depiction of Tower Bridge in art to coincide with the exhibition at the Guildhall Art Gallery entitled ‘Tower Bridge: A Celebration of 120 Years, 1894–2014’.
