LDF: one hour typography challenge

The excellent London Design Festival recently ran a one hour typography challenge based on the poster campaign Pentagram did for them in 2009. The premise was simple; choose one of 80 design quotes and within an hour design an A4 poster. They we’re offering no prizes – it was meant to be just a bit of fun for the long winter evenings – but there was the incentive that they were going to publish the five designs they liked best on the London Design Festival website and their Facebook page alongside a little information about you and your design practice, if you were one of those five. So, I thought, why not? I chose the Ellen Lupton quote, ‘Design is as much an act of spacing as an act of marking’ and definitely took less than an hour (honest) to produce this…

The ‘winners’ are yet to be announced, but to see more of the entries just go to the flickr page they have set up as a mini-showcase.
